Loneliness

Loneliness

Barren the wasteland flowed in front of my feet.
Nothing save a pebble in this desert does repeat.
And behind me years lost in my embattled defeat.
Time lost forgetting the taste of bread.
Time lost forgetting kisses on my son's head.
So much inside me is dead.

and every day
the sky is muted grey
like that little girl ignored by her father
like that skinny dog with no shelter
every day lasts a year
and every year a lifetime to bare
in front of my feet nothing everywhere

I will read yours. Thanks. about one third of my posts are from a play I wrote in rhyme and meter, and these are all indicated by act 2, or scene 4 ect. Just so you know these are not stand alone poems.

My favorite line in this poem is, "In front of my feet nothing everywhere." Validates the epitome of Loneliness.

I am in love with your poem which unfortunately / fortunately resonates with me. I feel it, I know it and through you, have been reunited from an unique and dramatically delivered angle. To me, the first stanza are words flowing eloquently from a mature deep soul, then the second is delivered as if through a pouting child, their lips stuck out. I'm leaving a 7 ... CayCay
