Logizomechanophobia
Your best friend sits each day, again and again
in front of something she loves to be on -
a thing that you think seems so much like a goblin
you wish that awful thing were dead and gone!
Your grandchildren, most women and most men
adore those goblins! You feel so alone.
You can’t believe the trance they put folks in.
“Has everybody gone insane?” you moan.
Your world has changed so much since those things came.
You cringe to think of one upon your lap.
Technology and “New Age” are to blame.
The world you knew has been wiped off the map!
To keep afloat these days is now your goal,
for goblins now surround you, and your hope
has vanished, for you’ve been sucked down a hole.
The new world just expects for you to cope!
Today you hear strange phrases such as “log,”
both “off” and “on,” to “tweet,” and “go online.”
Your friends use Skype and Facebook and they “blog,”
while you, for old dial-phones and “snail-mail” pine!
Yes, now there’s nothing basic, nothing plain.
You’re too afraid to even post a poem.
The goblins loom. To see one gives you pain,
and Internet has no place you call Home!
