Indoors the cause Bug’s here there's fear Lock down Wont frown I'm glad not sad Can write All night And day Way hayyyyy! Big smile All while Pen poop On soup Will warn If ‘p orn’ … (bawdy nawdy!) Outdoors for stores We’ll walk and talk Then stop to shop Small task dons mask Masks chafe stay safe In line of nine The ten all men! No bread said Fred Nor Jam or ham Greedy? Needy? Price Hike says Mike Not on Shouts Don What’s worse Lost purse I’m broke I choke I’ll pay Says Ray Heart lift At gift I cry Sweet guy Repay One day When life’s Less strife From midnight today we are in lockdown for 3 weeks in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus which is now in our community… we have been covid free for 7 months but people are already re adjusting to the regulations which will come into force and are wearing masks and distancing. There is a deal of ‘poetic licence’ in my poem but an on line friend was shopping and someone slipped an envelope in her shopping basket it contained some money and a note asking the finder to ‘pay it forward’ one day 01/06/21

Wow what a super string of Footles, Jan! Lockdown has been quite an inspiration! We are averaging ca 150-200 new positive cases daily (a lot for tiny Malta). Worthy of mentioning: the kind gesture you wrote about in the footnote. ~ Keep well. Hugs // paul

Sad about the virus coming and effecting your life so much. We have been in the same situation but at different times. The elderly are still on stay at home orders in our state. Only out to get supplies, meds or see a doctor. Your acknowledgement of my placement in a contest is appreciated. Sara

Awe some ~ Tom Thumb... Seriously, this is unreal, Jan. What a footle!!! It's more like a '10,000 meterele.' (A 'foot' equals about .32 meters in America, of course). Amazing write, is all I can say... You take the cake, my friend! :) gw

Its no surprise here Anne Lise with people going to the uk over the festive period but it is possibly the new strain as folk have done their 14 days quarantine and then later developed symptoms:-( hugs Jan xx

Wow... I'm praying for everyone and know God hears our heartfelt prayers... He's listening and I believe He will intervene... Wonderful that someone did that gesture of kindness. So amazing. God bless you always, sweet Jan

they have not confirmed if its the new strain or not but with isolation it doesnt seem to be spreading and the 4 new cases are all from people coming back from the uk who have tested positive on arrival back here.:-)

it's all a farce, Jan. These lockdowns are purely for show. Deaths are hardly greater in this year than in past years. I found CDC's statistics for death and they are hardly any greater at all in 2020 than in 2019. I pray one day people realize that even though Covid is REAL, the way it was used to cause panic was the ultimate con job. Nice footles!

Hi Jan, What a good string of footles. The whole world has been or will be on lockdown. Folk is just so hard-headed. By not social distancing and following the Covid guidelines. However, I’m still hopeful that this virus will be a thing of the past. Be well and stay safe, my friend:-) Alexis

We have had total freedom no masks distancing since June the only restriction was on travel on and off the island, now we are back to how it was in the early days... but this time its easier as people realise how important it is to get the virus under control:-) hugs Jan xx

Brilliant footles for the cause Jan, this further lockdown is really getting folk down. How nice what a stranger did, dropping a note in your friends shopping basket with a fiver in it. What a wonderful son you and your husband have too... Hugs, Belle xx

I adore working at school and helping with the exam supervision but son made me realise i was putting work before the health of the family. Everyone is already prepared for lockdown I dont think it will be as arduous as when we were in lockdown from march. the pay if forward for my friend was so lovely she is a carer for her husband and it really made her day:-) hugs jan xx
Date: 1/6/2021 8:28:00 AM
wow! great job with the footles, jan! that whole "pay it forward" stuff is really wonderful. very moving! i'm sorry that you're back on lockdown - we haven't been mask-free since the beginning and i don't see it happening anytime soon...

we start on proper lockdown at midnight but social distancing and mask wearing is very evident and I had to queue to get into the shop to find it devoid of almost all food but after the initial panic buying it will get back to the 'new normal; it is for 3 weeks to start off with but i see it being extended for many months if it is the new strain of the virus that we now have on the island:-) write on dear poet:-) hugs jan xx

Yeah my friend was in tears there was £5 in the envelope:-) I was due to invigilate at school on Friday (despite lockdown the exams are going ahead) i talked with hubby we agreed i should continue, but son wasn't happy when i told him especially in light of hubbies health... so son has given me the money i would have earned and i have turned the work down. Pay it forward in my own family I was chocked up at his thoughtfulness:-) hugs jan xx
