Living With Lost Love

Living with lost love Loneliness now grips my mottled hand Whilst true love sits so near, yet far away; Words, misunderstood, killed all that was, And in my heart I fear that's how it will stay. Could love die in so short space of time? Those years of warmth extinguished in a trice. Togetherness has vanished in the night As silence turns a home to solid ice. No well meant kiss when night times echo calls, Now sparkling eyes are staring straight ahead, And like a churchyard all in order stands, As graves we lie, apart, just like the dead. In darkness now I wait the coming dawn And curse the very day that I was born.

Tim, I do hope that this is a fictional write. It portrays such a tragic scenario with such vivid images of isolation and despair. Extremely well written. ( I wanted to add 'in so short 'a' space of time for rhythmic flow)

Hi Wendy, regrettably it is not fiction :( just something one lives with. You were right about the addition. It may have been in the original notes but don't know where they are. Thought in 'Black as night' "wind starts to howl" might be better re the flow.....anyway, just purrrfect !
