Living the Dream

up to her shoulders
in a sea of empty pop cans
she acts in her play
children at home
husband not mentioned
this time
she says she loves dogs
our friendship
bears the mark of time
sometimes meeting
in the freezer aisle
or by customer service
we remember journeys
to many places
shared again
we flirt
for the fun of it
