Living the Dream

At night,
Connecting carefully-brushed hair
with embroidered pillow case.
Dorothea dreams of
kite surfing on salty seas
as others gasp and applaud.

Another busy day filled
gratefully with smiles and chatter.
Thoughts return.
A love of flying anywhere,
Without notice,
Not needing permission.
Feels like freedom,
pure, gift of God.

Hard work
and dedication.
Dorothea’s dreams surpass
daily plans of fancy.
Curing all ills,
using weathered hands
to provide compassion.

This is the spot,
The place of calling.
Living the dream,
Best of all night and day.
Nun so adored,
You fly higher than most,
even with heels in grass.
Deserving, gift of God.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

What a kind and worthy picture of a nun! I liked "using weathered hands to provide compassion" and "You fly higher than most even with heels in grass."
