Living Or Dead

Afraid of growing old
Afraid of losing my health and job
Afraid of losing my youth and good looks
Afraid of not being needed and being needy

Some older friends say to me do not get old
Afraid of going into a home and sitting in urine all day
Afraid of being sexually mentally and financially raped
Afraid of being left for dead in a body that is alive but useless

Afraid of being nobody
Afraid of being a foot note in nobody's history
Afraid of afraid

Some of the advertising for nursing homes
Just paradise-pay the high entrance fees and Jesus will greet you at the gate
Like the old may river song “I am tired of living but afraid of dying”
But may not want to just keep rolling along
