Living In the Sunshine State
Living in the Sunshine State
By Elton Camp
The climate is mild most of the year
Earthquakes, residents need not fear
The hot sun is warmly on your neck
Get skin cancer? Oh, what the heck.
Susan’s house is right on the canal
Where skeeters buzz & reptiles prowl
Her yard is a mixture of grass & sand
But she thinks Florida is just so grand
When to her bathroom she made a call
She let out a loud, frightened squall
Because right there in her toilet floor
Stood a creature she surely did abhor
The alligator gave out a terrible hiss
The danger poor Susan couldn’t miss
Animal control came & took it away
Susan did a job right on that very day
So that could never happen any more
She promptly nailed up the doggy door
