Living a Lie

Living a lie

On reflection, life has always been a lie.
Dark clouds gathering, follow where I tread,
And in my heart I carry countless thoughts
Of things I fear, the destiny I dread.
The truth? The reasons make me question why
It takes a lifetimes path to comprehend
Just what it takes to fully realize
That good or bad mean nothing in the end.
	 Unselfish acts accepted without thought,
Of sacrifices made and chances lost,
To live a dream I've had since I was born
And now, too late, I have to count the cost.
Life will end, for soon the time is nigh,
So kill the dreams, forget, and simply die.
