LITTLE THINGS MATTER

You may wake up side by side Hugged and cuddled through the night But she’ll still crave that kiss on the forehead As you rush off to work, even if time is running away from you. You may buy her rose on your way home Wrapped in a touch of affection Adorned with your heartfelt emotions Yet she needs you to smile as you give it with a promise of your love. You might eat a meal too spicy With sand in the soup or salt too much Yet she’ll still want you to savor every bite Lick you fingers with a beaming face And scream how lucky you are to have her. You might be worn-out, exhausted from a long day Drowsy and drunk as you are She still crave the warmth of your embrace The taste of your lips, the scent of your breath as you kissed the night goodbye. Those little things matter It makes them breathe better.
