Little Things

My husband makes me feel pretty
on days when my mirror
is least complimentary,

he says, "My,
you look winsome today"
and I can't help but wonder
if all along
I've been hiding these pesky insecurities
on my face,
and he forged this lovely notion
on my behalf;
or I really am pretty,
in spite of imperfection

either way, it must be love,
right?
