Little Red Car 4th of July

LITTLE RED CAR 4th of July
I must reach into the deepest heart of you
and someway become a little part of you.
And I must touch you with the thought of me
if for just one time, then become a memory.

Summer rain is falling, every drop is you
and I don't know why they remind me so of you.
I have written you a song, and between each line
is an "I love you," from this poet heart of mine.

There's a little red car that was made for you
you will have a prayer everywhere it's taking you.
And if I reach you, someday you might smile
at how I love you, though you knew me just a while.
.........................
LITTLE RED CAR THE SONG
I saw you driving in the rain.
Then I saw you drive by again and again.
Wonder who you are. I don't know.
But I love you in your little red car.

I wrote a song it's just for you.
If I see you drive by, I'll sing it for you.
Wonder who you are. I don't know.
I just love you in your firecracker car.

I'm higher than a rocket on the 4th of July.
My fuse is burning for you.
I'm hotter than a firecracker--I'm gonna go BOOM!
My fuse is burning for you.
