Little People Choir
the pastor with giggles shaking his sides
sizes up
the little people choir
imagining the adults they will become
as their
antics
play out
the hambone in the front
wiggles
out all his sillies
as instructed by
the choir leader
the older grand
in the back row
so so serious
ringing handbells
stopping
ever’ so often
yes, the pastor sizes them up
one and all
and us too
as the congregation
leans in to listen to
the carolers
yes, the pastor notes
we never do that for him
and yes again
we can see the little kid in him
