Little Patches of Beauty

Plant a garden by the roadside,
so passerby's can see,
the beauty of the flowers
you have planted there for me.

"Me" meaning all of us,
who do not have a yard,
and appreciate the beauty
displayed in your front yard.

The beauty of bright flowers
are like a balm to me.
As if God's smiling face is there
for passerby's to see.

Flowers soothe the spirit,
and help the heart expand,
when I see little patches of beauty,
all over God's good land.

Those flowers in the sunlight,
their colors bright and gay,
are treasures I'll behold,
when again, I walk your way.

Hi, Terry, thanks for liking my flower poem. Flowers exude beauty, peace and calm among other emotions. And yes, their scent is like heaven sent. I think flowers are a piece of God's heaven here on earth. And if you listen closely, there is music coming from the flowers also. ...Of course, I remember reading your personal prayer. Keep them coming. Take care, Darlene

I am in full agreement dear, Darlene, for although I have not a yard I created a roof garden where I have planted many flowers and each day I share them in facebook with my friends! Beautiful and tender verse concerning flowers: God's expression of beauty! Enjoyed it!

A rooftop garden, oh how charming! Thank you for beautifying God's world with your Garden. I'll bet you share the flowers with your neighbors, too. Thanks for reading my poems and for your thoughtful comments. And if others would just plant a few flowers by roadsides that would be such a blessings for passerby's.

Your comments are so true, Jack! Many of us do take natures beauty for granted. But there are others who plant gardens in God's beautiful world. His caretakers, I like to call them. Tending His world. Blessings, Darlene

Thanks, Jan, my first responder, for agreeing with me. Most gardens are hidden away behind backyard fences. But people who plant little patches of beauty in their front yards are giving their neighborhoods a feast for the eyes! Blessings, Darlene
