Little Mini Deaths

Little mini deaths
Happen every day
Sometimes they are obvious
You lose your job
Or you lose the one you love
But sometimes these little deaths
Aren't obvious at all
Until you look back on your life
You look at the girl in pictures from years past
And realize
That you are not that person anymore
The innocence of that girl with the big smile and bright eyes
Is dead
And you are left alone with who you are today
In this moment
