Little Bird

Dear little bird,
I’ve so hard been trying to hold on to you,
But I’ve seen lately your making me aside
And that might be because you’re ready to fly.
I’ve seen you have made friends besides me,
I’ve seen you grown up from your little home,
And I know your not so little anymore
So I know it’s time for you to fly.
Oh, but I want you so badly to stay with me forever;
That our memories won’t devanish with new ones you’ll have on your way up.
Up, up, up so high you’ll never want to return.
But I’ve noticed it’s necessary.
I’ve noticed your ready to fly up so high and chase your dreams,
And oh so thank you for the memories we share,
But it's time for you to start new ones
And for that I cannot be sorrowful.
But don’t be discouraged,
One day I’ll reach up to you, and we’ll fly together,
Except I know it’s not my time but yours,
So fly up so high little bird
And don’t look back, because
One day I’ll catch up
And be right by your side,
Flying, for the rest of our lives.
