Little

Little by little
The fish bowl evaporates
The candle flickers yet smaller
The gold fish skeleton
Stares at the burnt candle wick
No one notices
The old man
Died last week anyways

This is beautiful. A candle, a bowl and an unnoticed death. If this is humanity, we need more poems like this. Many wishes, Kai

The feeling of sadness seems to deepen exponentially when children are involved. "Little" feels so lonely because it's short and to choose a gold fish which is small, is just terrific writing.:-) The twins piece is devastating and again, you have penned an emotional whopper :-) l will go read a limericks of Jan's now to avoid nightmares :-) blessings, lynn
