Listen To the Wind
Listen to the wind when its
hush transforms into twirls
of laughter in which it dances
with the gods till the break of dawn;
pushed aside by the serene but
mighty queen----the golden sun
who claims the day.
Listen to the wind who insists
on howling while disturbing the spirits
of the dell, waking them from their
ghostly dreams, forcing them to flitter
above the treetops, weaving in
agitation at the intrepid bluster,
cursing its proximity of force.
Listen to the wind whose anger turns
into rage, defying all who block its
savage path, roaring like a lion,
chasing its prey till it drops from fatigue,
joyful in its feast of destruction,
satiated for the moment until its hunger
bellows again.
