Listen To the Sun

Ignorance is bliss or so they say
But I was enlightened in a colorful way
In a silent conversation with our old friend
The sun told me this at yesterdays' end
He was glowing dark red in an angry display
For the constant pollution while we worked and played
Blended red and yellow showing orange disgust
A colorful sign of his negative distrust
Then passionate red for the love he shares
An approving gesture he thinks we still care
His friendship was kissed with a touch of pink
Reminding us all to stop and think
A moody dark purple of sadness and gloom
Fair warning try harder or we'll all be doomed
Then splashes light purple for days gone by
Feeling nostalgic for clear blue skies
As his dark blue of power turned to black
Leaving hope for tomorrow that he'd be back
Now that I've told you of all I have learned
Don't you think we should all be more seriously concerned
If you don't believe me and still wear a frown
Then tomorrow just listen as the sun goes down

You outdid yourself with this hip, flowing write, Poemdog. Such a cool, creative poem. I really dig this one. And I learned something too ... got a bonus, who knew. You got so much talent oozing out of your golden pen, my friend. Love and peace always and forever.

Very nice imagination...Daniel, I liked the way you described the colours... especially the two lines "As his dark blue of power turned to black....Leaving hope for tomorrow that he'd be back"....beautiful.

Thank you Meenakshi. I had to research what all of the colors meant but it was a fun write. It pleases me immensely that you took the time to read. I am glad you liked it.

Well done my friend... deft couplet rhyming and smooth flow. We take her for granted simply because she is always there... until. Best wishes, Keith

I could not agree more with S O's comment. This is very well written, the flow, the rhyme, and the subtle message you are giving us in not so subtle a way. Love it!
