Listen To Mother Earth

Listen to Mother Earth when it sadly speaks;. its cry you must heed... feel despair in her chant. A net full of salmons rewarded me for my hard labor as delight made me free: to let my spirit roam through the prairie, and despite the sweat dripping...I was happy. Today, I look into the murky waters and they are full of dead fishes that attract the wildcat, as the riverbed becomes drier by the hours; why is the flow so slow...hasn't the snow melted yet? Peaceful and pristine this river once was; now, stop and listen to Mother Earth. Copyright 2010 by Andrew Crisci

I hear you, Andrew, and hope everyone will start listening to Mother Earth. Today I saw dead fish lying on the beach and couldn't help but wonder if pollution was responsible. The snow may have melted, but the waters are still murky and our environment is declining at an alarming rate. Outstanding Sonnet! Love, carolyn
