Listen to me

The river flows But not outside of me My body As much as I tell it It will not respond to my emotions As much as I cry inside It will not cry outside As much as I smile inside It will not smile outside

Pent up emotions can lead to an eruption and many sad consequences my friend. Hope this is fiction

Knowing you're autistic gives it a whole different spin. Thank you

This isn't fiction, however, I think you may have gotten the wrong idea. That's okay, though. That can happen when you can't put a description unless you get premium. Basically, this poem is about how my body doesn't show my emotions even when I want to; it's uncontrollable, just like how crying is often uncontrollable. This is something caused by my autism, and I've always struggled with it because it sometimes makes me feel guilty when I'm not crying but everyone else is. I hope this helps you understand. Of course, you can always have your own interpretations, as poetry can always have multiple meanings.
