Listen Hard
Stay strong and open your ears, heart, and mind
Because the bitter earth is seeping into a freshly cut wound
And sometimes we don’t want to hear that which we should be listening to the most
And sometimes words just come and go like yesterday to tomorrow
Why do we make promises we can’t keep
Actions speak louder than words and I let you keep talking sweet nothings
Because that’s all your words amounted to
And the only truth was the commitment to your lies
But I’m learning and still living
Funny thing is I’ll make the same mistake again before I fully comprehend
Guess everyone goes through their fair share of bad apples before becoming fruitful
