Notes About The Poem

This is the reason I have not been able to see my poetry friends for a few days. I am so busy trying to get all ready for my short trip up to Idaho . I rarely get to see my sisters and their families, so it's always a big deal for me. Just trying to keep up with contests here and get everything in order before I leave tonight has consumed my time this week. Also I met the owner of ShadowPoetry last night - Marie Summers from Missouri.. I have known her since 2002 but never got to see her in person until last night when she was in my state!! Will try to see my friends' poems today sometime if I can! My sister is traveling to Idaho too and will be bringing me back home to spend Saturday night with me before returning to Iowa. We are both excited to see her son perform in CATS!

Me with Marie Summers who I finally got to meet last night!!

List of Things Packed For Trip To Nampa

Leaving at midnight on a Greyhound, I'm excited I'll be seeing my baby sister's family for two days and watch my nephew perform in CATS. In my small safari travel bag, these things I have packed:

Deoderant and my toothbrush (will sponge off my nephew for the toothpaste)
Two pairs of different colored contact lenses (gotta match my outfits)
A bottle of contact lense solution
Undies and sports bra
A pretty blue and yellow floral summer blouse (for when I watch my nephew perform in CATS)
Blue stretch denim jeans (and white ones as well, just in case)
Fashionable blue sandals
My supplements and sleeping pills in three tiny containers
My ASEA and COSEVA (They are helping me at least a little)
My cute new pink swimsuit (in case there is a pool somewhere)
My grey short shorts for exercise (in case I find a gym)
One of my favorite t-shirts which reads "I Need More Weekends"
Flat black comfortable shoes
A long t-shirt for my nightie
My cosmetic bag with makeup, face cream, nail file and hairbrush
A jewelry bag containing decorative combs and an extra ring
A pack of gum and my mouth guard
A small notebook and some pens for hopefully writing a few poems
My latest copy of TV Guide (I don't expect I'll be able to sleep on a bus!)
A borrowed book entitled "Uncensored Health You Can Have Today"
Healthy Peatos and "I Eat Bugs" snacks (to surprise my sister)
My purse with money, phone and charger inside (that completes things; the bag is less than 15 lbs. I always travel light because my trips are alway short!)

That's a great picture. I truly enjoyed reading your list - I learned a little more about you. What 2 colors of lenses do you have and what is your natural eye color? I thought people dressed up for plays??? Really cute list by my friend, a cutie pie! Love ... CayCay

I actually used to have three colors: aqua, violet, and blue. I am running low on them but I have a secret way to make them last. Will have to tell you sometime. My natural color is nondescript: kind of a cross between green/blue/gray, so any color looks vibrant on me. Many folks did not dress up for the play . It was a matinee, and CATS sucks!!

I was looking for the notebook, and relieved when I finally found it, almost at the bottom of the list! What? I thought it might have rated more toward the top! Have a safe trip.

Am excited about seeing the poems you will write on a Greyhound bus. Sure some will be about the countryside. How long will it take to go to Idaho. We used to live in Redmond, Washington near Seattle.
