Liquid Pearl

One liquid pearl of light, stands 'tween me and insanity. Keeps to bay, shadows which bite, claws that catch, pierce reality. One liquid pearl of light, minds eyes, that open to the world, see past boundaries to great heights. Yet, crash within, as I unfurl. One liquid pearl of light. Misguided warmth of hopeful thoughts! Inside, I can reunite? There! In truth, is folly wrought. One liquid pearl of light, dances on, leaving me no doubt, that I should not feed the spite. I must love, 'err the flame go out.

You brilliantly describe the intrinsic fears which cause us to implode along with the environmental and circumstantial shrapnel which explodes around our guarded perimeter. A conundrum, indeed! I guess, as you advise, we have to press on in a determined manner. A worthy poem you have penned!
