Lion With a Grin
He says I'm different
A breath of fresh air
Authentic and loving
Too beautiful to bare
Eyes that glow
A passionate fire
An inner strength
Experience requires
An intimate friend
A stellar mother
Intelligent yet funny
A once in a lifetime lover
Such high praises
Making claims that astound
Head spinning feet not touching ground
Ever since you've been around
Running hiding
Humbled by what I'm finding
Winning losing
It's all in the choosing
We stand together
Never known love like this
You promise forever
Your vision I can't resist
The first time our eyes met
I knew all at once
You'd be the one to captivate
My soul with perfect eloquence
You stalk me like darkness does the night
A predictable yet charming constant
Not once In awhile when loneliness calls
Nor with promises completely insolvent
You desire not merely
The sexy and strong
But the day to day reality
When everything's wrong
You color my word
In hues so rare
Only the pigment in your eyes
Could compare
If my eye is turned inward
I'll tell you what I see
A complicated lady
That would be me
Deeply emotional
Free as the wind
Sentimental and careless
A lion with a grin
A prism with facets
You wouldn't imagine
Confident yet timid
I'm wool and I'm satin
Your always so certain
And I unsteady
Our favorite saying
Baby you get me
So where will this go
Will it be love forever
My partner my friend
In between or even better
Whatever the truth
This chapter reveals
It is my innermost dreams
Desiring to be unsealed
So I'll try to be patient
Take one day at a time
Still I cannot disguise
Your love is the rhythm to my rhyme
