Lines

Time has been kind,
the lines round
your eyes
and mouth
speak of smiles
not tears.

I remember
our first smile
as you,
lithe and tanned
looked up
to meet my eyes
and am gratified that
you remember too.

Long ago
but the lines
of that smile
trace our life.
