Limitless Possibilities
Not that long ago,
humans were hunter-gatherers, living in caves.
And along with the Neanderthals,
we figured out how to create fire.
But unlike them, we also learned how to sow crops,
domesticate animals, and construct shelters.
That edge allowed us to survive.
We developed a written language
and invented tools that built cities and empires.
But we were not without fault;
promoting slavery and the slaughter of innocence.
Both brutal and territorial,
we perfected genocide through the scourge of war.
And yet, we persevered despite our flaws,
driven by intelligence and cunning.
We've made some progress towards accepting
each other's differences, though we aren't there yet,
We've learned to harness electricity,
achieve flight, and split the atom.
We even landed on the moon
and sent rovers to Mars.
Today, our planet is internet-connected,
Man's accumulated knowledge
is as close as the phone in our hands.
We are an incredible species.
I can only guess what tomorrow will bring
as we continue to climb, technology's ladder,
placing limitless possibilities
within everyone's reach.
