Limitations

I think you’ve got to stick with what you know; It’s fun to try new stuff if you don’t mind That some of your attempts are going to blow, And most of it you’ll want to leave behind. From time to time it’s true that some will stick, Like throwing pasta wet against a wall. But satisfaction’s far less hit or miss When you pursue what you know best of all. I do imagine I’ll improve upon The finer points required of this art; For now, I think shall not go beyond What lies within my wheelhouse and my heart.

Hey Jeff….I am of the same mindset. I like to write rhyme poetry and the occasional free verse and am not interested in other forms. Each to their own! Loved this poem…..Debx

Some of these forms come more naturally than others, and some, that I never knew existed, have proved to be a lot of fun and with some decent results. Not so sure about some of the more recent attempts though, lol. Thanks, and have a blessed day!
