They come from all walks of life
Some from countries filled with strife
They wish to convey
Their life in a way
That cuts to the core like a knife

They write words of wisdom, words that inspire
Words of great mirth, and some words of hell fire
Some poems tell a story
On getting to glory
They truly are poets that we can admire

When you read the words they have written
I feel certain that you will be smitten
You may laugh, or you may cry
You may just chuckle, or only sigh
But what they have written is always fittin'

If your name is not here, please forgive me
The list is inexhaustible, you see
It would take many days
To give everyone praise
And on that, I think you'll agree

Panagiota Romios September 18, 2019 at 6:33 AM It's hard to include everyone on a list. I never dedicate poems to poets. I wrote one for a Poetess, who totally ignored it. And for reasons unknown will never comment to any of my poetry. Others poets suffer from poetic arrogance and demand my comments for each poem. I can't deal with such insanity. I will write someone personally, but no more public adulation. It blows up in my face...,one, Two, creates envy in others. I had no idea your daughter writes here. Wonderful. Panagiota

Tom is a highly respected poet, and a great friend. Although I have never met him, he has always been among the first to comment on anything I post. As the list kept growing, I knew I could not recognize everyone on Soup but as I was making the list by memory, it evolved into one that consisted of certain poets who easily came to mind due to their support, encouragement and kind comments. I wish I could have included more. I pray that no one got offended at their name not appearing.

I had a meeting that I couldn't get out of so I wrote one for the ladies later. Good to hear from you. It's been too hot here in Georgia to do much jigging but I still shake a leg ever now and then. My list, if I would have had room, would have contained more names, but space being limited, I had to quit. You will always be on my list old jigger! All is well with me, and I hope with you also.
