Limerence

My heart sets a blaze
Whenever I think of you
But the fire quickly fades
When you leave me.

In this universe we’re merely friends
Maybe in another we’re lovers
I want to break the barrier
That prevents us from being together

My feelings are like dice rolls
Always uncertain until the outcome
Despite your grasp on my heart
I’m afraid my feelings were never true

I want our destiny’s to be intertwined, but
The threads that connect us is a thin line
I’ll fight the losing battle to not forget you
Even though you were never mine

Your love is not mine to claim
Only you can choose and aim.
I’ll cherish the time we have left.
Towards the end of it we’ll see.

If my love is strong enough to keeps us together
Or
If my love is weak enough to let us fall apart
