Limerence

I thought I will be Venus
Steady and strong
Yet I go away
I know I was wrong
When I see your eyes
Not smiling anymore
Did I drown you
Trying to bring you the shore ?
My hands clutch
The air that held you
As you dry your tears
Reaching to hold me too
But I hide
Like I do every time
How can I face you
After all those crimes
I made you sad
When I promised happiness
And now I leave
Leave you with this madness
Of heartbreak and pain
Lost innocence and lone tear
You will move on
Just a little more to bear
But I will stay
Right where I left you behind
You will always be the anchor
In cruel, a word kind
And as you write a new song
About a different love
I will write my final about you
And burn it on a stove....
