Lily's Manifesto

White throat open to the sky— I swallow light, spit out beauty Like bloody stars Dawn splits me open. There is no gentleness here: I break Into a fierce being Pink wounds flowering In your careful living room, I refuse to heal My scent, sweet poison, Seeps through proper afternoons and Won't be contained Yellow against black I burn holes through emptiness Without your leave Watch how I burst forth— Ripping through green fingertips To claim my space I bloom for myself In this vase or on wild earth Death will find me proud
