Lily
That table was where sunlight came to die
Hold on to the sweet memory
As it fades like succulent steak
The shadows creep in
All the dancing children outside
Come out to play
Shackled to the silvery rays
A gentle lily sits in the sudden stillness
Of all the forgotten children
Trinkets litter the fields
That table was where sunlight came to die
Covered in lily petals
