Lillian

Hey there Lillian
You with your auburn hair
The wonder of my life

You taught me some things
On how to conduct myself
I looked to you in tough times

Called out to you to save me
More than a time or two
We had that connection
"Yes", I'm sure of it

More than a time or two
I made you laugh with joy
I'm sure I made you cry as well
It wasn't because I was trying to
Not because I didn't love you

I've always loved you
I love you still
You were my golden butterfly
Lillian - my mother

She has a great and loving daughter. In that you both are very lucky. Not all of us can say that. Love involves some selflessness and appreciation as you well know. You are special.

thanks for telling me about this one. It's just wonderful, Debbie. You used the past tense at the end. Did she pass away? My mom was a redhead but now her hair finally went grey Gosh, it changed to auburn and stayed that way well into her 70's. I have at least five poems about her on this site. Nobody can take the place of our moms.

Is she gone on that trip from which there is no return? I wrote a poem about my father which is on the web - it is called "Paul's Gone". If you want to - take a look at it. Peace & Love Matthew Anish
