Lilac Blooms

I saw you again yesterday
Our eyes met, you looked away

I remember the songs you used to sing
As I sit here and wonder if my phone will ring

Now I'm picking a glass of lilac blooms
You planted for me, back when we shared bedrooms

It's been oh so long ago...
But time stands still, as you say hello

The sound of your voice makes me quiver
May the lilacs stay in bloom forever....

Sad and romantic. Sometimes when my wife looks at me I feel shy like a little kid and I have to look away. That was the first emotion I felt when reading your poem. I'm glad I read it and did not look away. Great job Donna.

The Sounds contest looked a bit challenging for me... but you seem to do it with ease. I liked how subtle everything was... yet the emotions in it were clear, with out being overbearing. Keep writing!
