Bunte Freuden im Frühling
Wildblumen und frisches Gras
Sie übertreffen sich im Leuchten
Wie junge Liebe


Colorful delights in spring
Wild flowers and fresh grass
They surpass in brilliance
As a young love does


Colorido delicias de primavera
Flores silvestres y hierba fresca
Ellos superan en brillo
Como un amor nuevo

Such beautiful imagery, Gert. I hope your hand and arm are feeling much better. Glad you liked the poem and thanks so much for translating it. I think I've put it all in the right places, but I'm not 100% sure. I think only one of us has to post it anyway and declare that we wrote it together - would you like to do the honours? Gert, I was telling Jack how much your poems are helping me learn Spanish. I may never learn to speak it, but thanks to you, I am definitely learning to understand more of it when written. Your poem reminds me of a play I was in as a teen, "Of Poems, Youth and Spring." Beautifully written. Please let me know when you post the tanka you are working on for the collaboration. Love, Carolyn
