Like the Wind

The wind beats heavy against our hearts today.
It feels harsh, and sudden, and cruel, and cold,
and although the wind is wildly strong,
it can never be strong enough knock us down forever.

And with time, the wind will slowly begin to lose momentum.
Soon the uncontrollable winds will begin to slowly shift
and become softer, bearable, endurable.
The seasons will change, and the harsh winds will be no more.

The wind can be a painful thing, but it can also be a beautiful reminder,
because like the wind, it can’t be seen, but it can be felt.
Like you, we will no longer see you physically,
But we will always feel you all around.

And every time the wind blows, I will know it’s you

A very sad but beautifully written piece! I can so very much identify with the heart-tugging sentiments expressed here as I have lost loved ones along the way. Well done, Elizabeth! Hugs. Pandita
