Like Pleasant Petrichor
"Recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind, like breezes blown... " ~ Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Sweet memories pop up, and linger as petrichor, oftentimes
prompting me to slide down the evergreen joys of past
where, with the rhythm of dainty blooms, my song chimes;
Like the bright yellow sunflowers in fields vast,
childhood scenes wave their cheery hands at me
prompting me to slide down the evergreen joys of past;
When fringed with vibrant colours of youthful glee,
ah! my mind mirrors simple colours of love and fun -
childhood scenes wave their cheery hands at me;
Playful scribbles in wall, the hide and seek and run,
little delights such as spinning a top with thread
ah! my mind mirrors simple colours of love and fun;
Those clattery laughter and chatter that spread
the joys and smiles in sunny meadows of my youth,
little delights such as spinning a top with thread;
Like how my springtime blossoms my mind soothe,
sweet memories pop up, and linger as petrichor, oftentimes;
The joys and smiles in sunny meadows of my youth
where, with the rhythm of dainty blooms, my song chimes.
