Like Liquid Alabaster
She, like dark
liquid alabaster
on a busy street
moves like music
deferential, sweet
She, like spring water
pushed dust before her
gatherers warm hair
on her marble shoulder
All who watch her, pass
stop, look awhile,
greet alabaster girl
She dances, laughs
needs never glance
in shop glass
Alabaster girl
free, beauty abundant
please smile for me
