Like Justinian

from dusk until dawn
it did
from Florida to Maine
it did
from the cradle to the grave
it did

and our love - is
the elastic bubble wrap
connecting my sun
to his moon

even though our daughter came too soon
our love still is

it's ancient
like hieroglyphics
he is royalty
at least to me

but then he became a man
a man like Justinian..

The title drew me in, Chante. Justinian...The last of the great Roman eastern Emperors I believe. Intriguing little poem - I enjoyed the read! :) john
