Like Doves

,Let's fly away to our secret rendezvous,
Deep in a love street called Heartwhere true love lies,
Not on a map, not made for wandering eyes,
But where your soul undresses mine, and mine undresses yours.

Holding hands, beauty from inside shining outside,
No makeup, no pretense, just truth in its purest tide,
Your laughter is a prayer my lonely spirit memorized,
And in your gaze, I find the home my heart had longed to recognize.

For have you seen how doves love?
They do not love in haste, they do not love in fear,
When one takes flight, the other never lingers here,
Their love is not seasonal, it does not disappear.

Have you seen how doves love?
They mourn when parted, they coo in gentle pain,
They choose one heart and let that choice remain,
No flock can lure them, no storm can make them stray.

They build together, twig by twig, in quiet sacrifice,
To love is to die a little, so someone else can live a lot,
That is their secret, that is their vow, that is their plot -
To give their wings so the other can soar.

So come, my love, let us love like doves,
Not loud, not proud, but faithful to the end,
Let us be soft in a world that loves to bruise,
Let us be true in a world that loves to bend.

Let our love be a sanctuary, not a cage,
A soft landing after life's relentless rage,
Two souls intertwined, too sacred to sever,
One flight, one heart, one sky, forever.

Let's fly away, you and I,
Not to escape the world, but to rise above it,
Holding hands, hearts aligned,
Like doves inseparable, indivisible, infinite.

This poem beautifully captures the gentle and enduring nature of true love through the timeless symbolism of doves. Your free verse structure flows naturally, echoing the unhurried and faithful flight of the birds, while lines like "Let our love be a sanctuary, not a cage" offer a profoundly moving sentiment. This is a wonderfully tender and heartfelt piece!
