Like Diamonds

I awaken to

the brightness of the blue sky

      the sun shines down

             on the newly thawed grass

       dew glistens like diamonds

I used to love taking early morning walks, while the grass was frozen and shiny... it's quite invigorating! Sometimes I wonder if those "pretend diamonds" can make a morning person more glad than if they WERE actual diamonds...
