VOICE: Ahmad Razvi

Listen to poem:
I touched his hand On that playground With those children  Looking With sun in his hair And his sparkling eyes Outdoors smelled  Better than wet grass  After rain Than vanilla ice cream cones On Sunday You know how bubbles can exist? Like overgrown pink bubblegum? On far too daring lips? This timeless juncture Where just he and I Had momentum And nothing else in our Small frail world Mattered In my stomach something  Came alive with Tornado twists Fluttering feelings  He didn't move Or speak The moment lasted My entire life  Every of his knuckles  Etched in memory  No word crossed my lips Failed my tongue These few seconds Winks in time Were a smile to last Forever In my consciousness *** © Darren White January 27, 2017

This is far too uplifting of a poem for my disgruntled heart, shame on you. :) Is there supposed to be a second 's' at the end of "smells like wet gras" or is that a european thing a simple texan like me wouldn't understand?

Beautiful poem, one of my favorites. It perfectly desribes the moment of no return because you aren't able to forget and you can't go back. I love this poem!

Thank you, Iris. It does, doesn't it? Just that very small timeframe in which everything can happen...

"This timeless juncture/Where just he and I/Had momentum/And nothing else in our/Small frail world/Mattered" This is beautifully written and read. This innocence captures a universal moment that is timeless, established, and well penned. = Wesley C.

Sweet isn't it? That moment you realise you are falling in love, and it only takes a split second? :)
