Like a lightning bolt, it came,
a phone call from a man,
a call that rocked my world.
His words- my birth mother,
looking for me- and he found me.
Oh God, how could this be?
The only mom I know is
not the mother of my blood?
What is my real birth story!
Why was I left in the dark?
Oh, so many mysteries.
Do I have other siblings?
What will she look like- me?
How did I come to lose her?
But, now she wants me,
her child, her flesh, and blood.
How will I tell my 'mother'
I wish to meet my real mom?
She's the only one I've known.
What will happen to our long,
loving mother-daughter
thirty-two-year relationship?
Will she feel hurt and sad?
Can I love them both?
But, now 'she' wants me!
My mom wants to meet me!
What will I say to her? How
will I feel at the moment
I see her- our eyes meet?
So many emotions, so
many, many questions- and I
need all of those answers.
"Yes", I say on the phone.
"Yes, yes, I want to meet her!"
My heart feels something
I have never felt before-
a new beginning! Why, how,
when, where- I came to be-
by my real birth mom who still
wants me- cares about me!

Theme: A mother searching for the child she gave up for adoption. Inspired by the TV show, 'Long Lost Family', always such bittersweet stories.
