Like a Flower Without Petals
Left lonely and fragile
Like a flower without petals
Once I thought that it was hopeless,
And now, I feel buried, in dust
Among the vultures,
Eating away, at my bones
Left alone and fragile,
Is what you have made me,
Gray is the color, I see
In you, a lost soul
Tortured by the past,
Pulling me toward the darkness
A life, too familiar,
Years have passed,
The flowers have grown
As high as the wall
Built just for me
Surrounding my grave
Where once I walked,
Now, I lay quietly, awaiting
Life’s darkest hours,
No light has shed
During those past years,
Nothing to brighten my days,
And no rain to wash away
The pain, only thorns,
Pulling at my skin
As it bleeds, watching
The cover to descend
Upon my body, a coffin
To end my misery.
