Lightning Was the Only Light

It was one of those nights full of thunder that I emerged from my deep slumber into the darkness. Indeed, lightning was the only light, It rained and I shivered, But my wife slept next to me, She was my refuge, My fortress from the menacing darkness, I stopped shivering and I slowly melted into her arms, And suddenly, all her energy grasped and invaded me and all I knew was her, Her lips showered me and I let her take me, We disappeared into each other and felt all of us pervaded by a deep love, We were born again, Into all that is timelessness, Piercing shots of light shot my skin into what was morning, I emerged from the slumber into the light.
