Lightning Laughs

clouds extend a high five to each other
crowding and swirling
into a gray frenzy
worse than subway pushing

lightning laughs, choosing her tree.
a tall mighty oak, a hundred years old.
In seconds she splits it in half
zapping it with a blast that scares the family inside the house

oozing with power she grins at the clouds
reminding them who is boss

Thank you Maureen. I am listening to thunder and adoring the concept of a big flash of lightning right now.

Vintage Caren Krutinsger, esp. those last two lines. You've got me grinning too. Could the lightning's personification person possibly be you?! ~ gw

Thank you Heidi. It looks like a storm today, thus, this is what I came up with in honor of the possibility or it, which I am always looking forward to, as no one loves a storm as much as I. I am especially fond of lightning and adore thunder!
