Light Upon My Path
My God,
I thank you for your light
to shine upon my path this day.
May I see all whom I meet
with your eyes,
with your compassion,
with your empathy.
May I hear as you hear,
act as you would act,
speak as you would speak,
With all whom I meet this day.
May I get out of the way
so you can walk through me
to do your will.
I give back to you
your gift of this day.
May I live these gifted hours
as would you
Until sunset returns
another end of day.
My God
