Light that lights all lights

The Light that lights all lights Was here before the Sun He said "let there be light" With His Word, light begun And the Word was with God The Father, and the Son And --yes!-- the Word was God! With the Spirit -- they're One The True Light that gives light Through Him all things were made The stars-- and moon at night, Reflecting, in the shade So too Mary reflects The glory of her Son Lighting all hearts afire With the news: Jesus won! He's the Light of the world So let's not turn Him "off" Let Him shine through our hearts Even when others scoff He's the central Shamash On mankind's menorah The Light that lights all lights Sing hallelujah! :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Deadline: Wednesday, January 1, 2025 12 poems of the maximum 35 allowed have been entered. I enjoy this reassuring poem. It has a simplicity which makes a fact, the everlasting God and Son, are of pure spirit.

The Holy Spirit —that caused the world to be made and Light to come and the Eternal Word to be made flesh— is pure indeed! :) Holy Spirit, purify my heart, renew a clean spirit within me, amen
