Light Stirs My Soul
Winter storm descends
Blinding the world
Windswept, swirling
Flakes in torrents hurling
From a sullen, sinister sky
Somber silence in its wake
Flowers in full bloom frozen
Leaves this morn fallen -- buried, unraked
Night's icy fingers keep me awake
But morning's light stirs my soul
Rays of sun butter my roll
Brighter, every warmer, now my thoughts
With them, winter's battles to be fought...
